A Bit About Me
Mackenzie Smith is Head of Development at Storyboard Media, where she oversees the company’s slate with a producer’s eye for story, sourcing and shaping material from first draft through packaging.
A trained screenwriter with a BFA in Screenwriting from Chapman University, Mackenzie brings a writer’s instinct for narrative and character to every stage of development. She began her career on Storyboard’s sales side, helping bring the company’s slate to the global marketplace, including Marlowe, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Liam Neeson.
After stepping away to focus on her own screenwriting, Mackenzie returned to Storyboard as Head of Development, where she now produces and shapes projects from the ground up. Her perspective as both a working writer and industry dealmaker gives her a rare understanding of what makes a story work—both on the page and in the marketplace.
